Self-inspection and evaluation
Universities, as autonomous organizations, are required to check and evaluate the status of their education and research, organization and administration, and facilities and equipment (self-inspection and evaluation) and disclose the results in order to improve the level of their education and research. [Article 109, Paragraph 1 of the School Education Law]
Ehime University has established the “Basic Policy for Internal Quality Assurance of Education at Ehime University,” which sets forth basic items regarding responsibilities, implementation systems, etc., in order to realize the educational philosophy stated in the Ehime University Charter, to conduct its own inspection and evaluation of the quality of education and research activities and the level of student learning outcomes, and to link evaluation results to reform and improvement. The company has established a quality assurance system to ensure and improve the quality of education (internal quality assurance) on a constant and ongoing basis.

Institutional Accreditation of Universities
Article 109, paragraph 2 of the School Education Law states, “The overall status of education and research, etc. shall be evaluated (certified evaluation) by a person (certified evaluation organization) certified by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology every period specified by a Cabinet Order.” The school is to undergo accreditation evaluation every seven years or less.
In the 2007 and 2014 academic years, the University underwent institutional accreditation evaluation by the National Institution for Academic Degrees and University Evaluation, and met all the criteria set by the National Institution for Academic Degrees and University Evaluation, and “meets the university evaluation criteria. Accreditation of Graduate Schools of Teaching
Under Article 109, Paragraph 3 of the School Education Law, universities that establish professional graduate schools “shall undergo accreditation evaluation of the curricula, faculty organization, and other educational and research activities of said professional graduate school every period specified by a Cabinet Order, in light of the purpose of the establishment of said professional graduate school. The accreditation is required to be taken every five years.
Our Graduate School of Education (Graduate School of Education, Division of Advanced Education Practice) underwent accreditation evaluation of professional graduate schools in 2048, and was certified as being in conformity with the evaluation standards for graduate schools of teacher education by the National Institution for Teacher Training and Evaluation.
