? On November 17, PPI-Ehime, the Indonesian Student Union, held an Indonesian sport competition called “PORMAS 2019” in gymnasiums on the Johoku Campus for the purpose of promoting exchanges to form friendships between Indonesian and local communities in Ehime through sport. About 200 people, including Indonesian trainees, university students and staff, and members of the Ehime-Indonesian Friendship Association (EIFA), participated in this event.
? The opening ceremony started with the singing of the Indonesian national anthem “Indonesian Raya”, followed by opening remarks by Deputy Consul Risa Ambarizky, the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia-Osaka (KJRI Osaka) and Prof. Ruth Vergin of the Institute of International Relations at Ehime University. All participants enjoyed dancing “Poco-Poco”, an Indonesian dance for warming-up.
? From beginning to end, the participants were enthusiastic about not only playing but also watching and cheering the games. There were three sections: futsal, badminton, and table tennis. After each game, players shook hands with a smile, admiring each other’s fair play. During lunch time, they also enjoyed Indonesian food prepared by Indonesian students and their families.
