On Wednesday, December 4, 2024, a study abroad report meeting was held at the Ehime Bank head office for recipients of the “Ehime Bank Scholarship for Overseas Study.
The Ehime Bank Scholarship for Overseas Study was established with the generous support of Ehime Bank, Ltd. to provide scholarships to students who are planning to study abroad for a long period of time.
At the debriefing session, Yugui Ito, a third-year student in the Faculty of Law and Letters (sent to the University of Bucharest, Romania), and Kotaro Shoji, a first-year student in the Graduate School of Science and Engineering (sent to Uppsala University, Sweden), reported on their study abroad experiences. Based on the reports they had prepared in advance, they presented the background of their study abroad experience, what they learned at their study abroad destination, and how they will make use of their experiences in the future. This was followed by a question-and-answer session and exchange of opinions, during which the Ehime Bank attendees asked many questions, demonstrating their high level of interest. The students who presented their reports commented, “It was a valuable opportunity for me to not only prepare a report but also to actually report my experience in front of someone.
This scholarship was established in FY 2019, but due to the impact of the new coronavirus infection, the scholarship has been awarded since FY 2022 to coincide with the resumption of overseas study by students. Ehime University will continue to support students who go abroad to study, placing importance on the wishes of companies (to nurture future leaders and support their studies) and Ehime University (to expand the study environment and human resource development functions for students and others).
