On Saturday, October 28, 2023, the Office of International Student Employment Promotion Program, Institute for International Relations, Ehime University, held an “Exchange Party between Alumni and Current Students. This was part of the “Career Vision Formation for International and Japanese Students Learning Together” class. A total of 33 people participated in the exchange meeting, including four graduates who are active in companies in Ehime Prefecture as lecturers, one foreign worker working in Matsuyama City, 23 current students, and five faculty members.
First, the lecturer introduced himself, explained the company, and gave a presentation on his current work and what he finds rewarding.
The participating international students commented on what they had learned from the advice of people in the business world, such as “It was good to hear about their job hunting experiences from senior students who have found jobs at Japanese companies at the exchange program,” and “I learned that communication is the most important thing in a Japanese company, and it is important to improve both your ability to understand others and to convey your point of view properly. I learned that communication is the most important thing in a Japanese company, and that it is important to hone both the ability to understand others and the ability to convey your point properly. For students who are seeking employment in Japan, this was a valuable opportunity to hear the real voices of their seniors working at Japanese companies.
The Office will continue to support international students seeking employment in Japan while nurturing global human resources who can play an active role in the region and in Japan.
