On April 19, 2023 (Wed.), the International Student Employment Promotion Program Office of the University’s Organization for the Promotion of International Collaboration (headed by Vice President Kazuhiro Mitsunobu) held a “Liaison Meeting for International Student Employment Promotion Educational Program Partner Institutions and Organizations” with 15 participants from outside program partner institutions and organizations and 15 from within the University.
In the first part, Ms. Tomoko Izuki, Director of the International Student Employment Promotion Program Promotion Office, and Ms. Michiko Izumiya, Promotion Coordinator, explained the program’s business report for FY2022 and its implementation plan for FY2023.
In the second part, Mr. Izuki explained the current status and issues of foreign students’ employment in Japan, and Mr. Osamu Kobayashi, Deputy General Manager, presented the topic, “How to attract Asian economic growth to Ehime? and then Mr. Osamu Kobayashi, Deputy General Manager, presented the topic “How to attract Asian economic growth to Ehime”.
Afterwards, there was an exchange of opinions and a question-and-answer session on the status of residence for foreign students and foreigners seeking employment in Japan, as well as on Ehime Prefecture’s efforts to help foreign students find employment in the region and the status of employment of foreign students at the University.
President Hiroshige Nishina concluded the meeting by saying, “We recognize that universities must transform their roles and functions in response to changes in society, and we have set a goal of promoting diversity, but we will not only ask for cooperation from universities to local communities and businesses, but we will work together in cooperation with them.
