What is mission redefinition?
In order to clarify the purpose of establishing universities and faculties and to “visualize” their significance as public educational institutions, MEXT and each national university exchanged opinions and organized the strengths, characteristics, and social roles (missions) of each university based on objective data such as research standards, educational outcomes, and industry-university collaboration. (Part of the “University Reform Action Plan” formulated and announced by MEXT in June 2012)
The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) has released the results of the redefinition of the University’s mission. In light of this, TUAT is committed to strengthening its functions in order to develop the strengths and characteristics of the university and further fulfill its role in society.
