About the Insurance System
Student Accident Insurance for Education and Research (Gakkensai)
This insurance covers physical injuries caused by sudden and accidental external accidents that occur during educational and research activities and while commuting to and from school, and plays an important role in students’ lives.

Scope of Activities Covered
“Education and Research in Action.”
- during regular school hours
While taking classes by means of lectures, experiments, practical training, exercises or practical skills
(This includes while engaged in thesis research under the direction of a faculty advisor or while preparing for or cleaning up after classes.) - during school events
While participating in various school events as part of educational activities such as entrance ceremony, orientation, and graduation ceremony organized by the university - While in school facilities other than (1) and (2)
While in any school facility owned, used or controlled by the University for educational activities (except while in a dormitory, at a time or place prohibited by the University, or while engaged in any act prohibited by the University) - During extracurricular activities notified to the University outside the school facilities
While engaging in cultural or athletic activities under the supervision of an on-campus student organization recognized by the university in accordance with the prescribed procedures in accordance with the university’s regulations. Types and Amounts of Claims Paid
- Death benefit (if death occurs within 180 days from and including the date of the accident)

Other Activities 10 million yen - Residual disability insurance (if residual disability occurs within 180 days from the date of the accident, including the day of the accident)
1.2 million yen to 30 million yen for “during regular school hours” and “during school events.”

Change of contract
In the event of a leave of absence (more than one year) or withdrawal (more than one year of remaining insurance period), please notify the Student Life Support Section.
Issuance of Certificate of Subscription
If you need to submit a certificate of enrollment for an internship, etc., please submit an Application for Certificate Issuance to the Student Life Support Division.
GAKKENSAI Liability Insurance (Gakken CALI)
This insurance covers damages incurred as a result of legal liability for injuries to others or damage to others’ property during activities covered by the course of study and during return trips to and from the course of study, and is available only to members of the Student Accident Insurance for Education and Research (Gakkensai).

(Note: Some faculties are not included in the fees.
You can enroll in the program even if you do not enroll at the time of admission.
How to claim
If an accident occurs, please call Tokio Marine & Nichido School Insurance Corner at 0120-868-066.
After that, please report the accident and follow the necessary procedures to the contact person in charge at the university.
GAKKENSAI supplementary comprehensive insurance for student life
Gakkensai” covers injuries sustained during education and research activities. By adding Gakkensai supplemental comprehensive insurance for student life (abbreviated as “Futai Gakuso”) to “Gakkensai”, the coverage is expanded to cover all aspects of student life. However, by adding “Gakkensai” and “Gakkensai Supplementary Comprehensive Insurance for Student Life” (abbreviated as “Fuutai Gakuso”), the coverage is extended to all aspects of student life.
*Compensation for out-of-pocket expenses incurred at medical institutions for injuries and illnesses incurred in daily life, both on and off campus. For details of the coverage, please refer to the PDF file below. A pamphlet will be distributed to new students at the time of enrollment.
