Status of Compliance with Governance Code
About the governance code for national universities
National university corporations are required to have a high level of public nature and are provided with various types of financial support, etc. Therefore, it is necessary to establish a strong governance system and to make this clear to various stakeholders. The National University Corporation Governance Code has been developed by the Association of National Universities in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and the Cabinet Office to reflect the views of various stakeholders and to be widely accepted by society. Each national university corporation is implementing measures to build a governance system in accordance with laws and regulations and based on the basic principles of this Governance Code, taking into account its own characteristics and other factors.

Report on the status of compliance with the national university corporate governance code
The following is a detailed description of the state of governance at TUAT Ehime, Japan.
Fiscal year 2024 (announced on October 24, 2024)
Ehime University has implemented all of the principles in the National University Corporation Governance Code. The following is an example.
Principle 1-1 Pathways to realize the vision, goals and strategies
In order to create a “student-centered university,” “a university that shines with the community,” and “a university that connects with the world” as its basic principles and to realize the “Ehime University Charter,” a “Mid-term Plan” is formulated for each mid-term goal period, as stipulated by the National University Corporation Law. In the fourth mid-term goal period (FY2022-2027), Ehime University will continue the vision set forth in the third mid-term goal period, “Ehime University will lead the region and contribute to society from a global perspective through education, research, and social activities,” as a direction to strengthen its functions to achieve the principles and goals of the Ehime University Charter. The “Basic Goals” in the preamble of the mid-term objectives are positioned as “Strategies” to achieve the vision, and the management of the corporation is being carried out while inheriting the “Vision and Goals” of the 3rd Mid-term Objectives period.

Principle 4-1: Make publicly available in an easy-to-understand manner a variety of information related to corporate management, education, research, and social contribution activities.
We strive to proactively disseminate information on our diverse activities as a community-based university in order to provide accurate, prompt, and easy-to-understand information to a wide variety of stakeholders.
The information is to be provided in an easy-to-understand and effective manner by selecting the means and methods according to the purpose and subject of the information release, The following are examples of such means: official website, social media (YouTube, Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram), press releases and press conferences, interviews by the media, and the university’s public relations magazine “Dot E Folio” (electronic and printed versions for posting on the website).
In addition, the university information magazine “Dot-E Report: Ehime University’s Current Status and Future Prospects” is published to provide local stakeholders with information on the current status of the corporation’s activities and financial information, and to gain an understanding of the overall picture of the university’s initiatives and future development. The electronic version for posting on the website and the booklet version (4,800 copies in FY2023) are produced).
