On Monday, January 27, 2025, the 2024 Crisis Management Seminar for Overseas Study and Language Training was held at Nanka Memorial Hall. 121 students, faculty, and staff from Ehime University, Matsuyama University, Ehime University of Medical Technology, University of Human Environments, and St. Catherine’s University participated in the seminar.
In this seminar, Mr. Akihiko Ueno of the Japan Council for Safety of Students Overseas (JCSOS), a non-profit organization, was invited as a lecturer, and participants learned how to conduct safe and secure study and training programs by referring to specific crisis examples in order to prevent unexpected situations (disasters, accidents, illness, etc.) while staying and studying overseas. The participants learned how to conduct safe and secure study abroad and training programs by referring to specific crisis cases.
Based on various data and information, Mr. Ueno explained “what precautions are necessary to avoid encountering danger,” “how to respond if you are involved in a crime,” and “three principles for safety,” while asking students in the audience questions. During the Q&A session after the lecture, participants eagerly asked questions about how to carry valuables, how to carry a bag safely, and so on.
Ehime University will continue to promote the development of a crisis management system to ensure the safe dispatch of students abroad.
