On August 8, 2024, President Han-Ken Lin of National Chiayi University in Taiwan visited Ehime University and exchanged views with President Hiroshige Nishina, Vice President and Director Kazuhiro Mitsunobu, and Special Assistant to the President Osamu Kobayashi.
Located in central Taiwan, National Chiayi University was established in 2000 by the Chiayi Institute of Technology and Chiayi Normal College, and has seven faculties.
President Hayashi is visiting Ehime University as the head of a delegation of the university’s baseball team for friendly baseball games, sports, cultural, and tourism exchanges, and to discuss cooperative relations in human resource development and educational development.
At first, President Hayashi proposed the conclusion of an agreement with a view to student exchange, etc., and stated that smooth exchange could be expected due to the similarities in the faculties of both universities and the small difference in the number of students. Specific opinions were then exchanged on the respective faculties and partner universities.
Ehime University will continue to further promote mutual exchange with National Chiayi University in various fields such as student exchange and acceptance of international students.
