On March 1, 2019, Mr. David Lawson, Consul-General of Australia in Osaka, and Ms. Saori Tominaga, the Commercial Attache, paid a courtesy visit to President Ohashi at Ehime University. Mr. Lawson explained that Australia is a diverse country, where one of five students studying at universities comes from overseas. He added that most universities in Australia are national or public ones which are financially supported by the government for basic to applied research and product development. Ms. Tominaga mentioned that the number of recently established Technical and Further Education (TAFE) schools is increasing in Australia. She emphasized that TAFE is recommended for those who want to start studying in Australia, as it doesn’t require a high level of English language proficiency and yet has a lot of partner universities.
The Study-in-Australia Fair 2019, organized by the Consulate-General of Australia in Osaka, will be held on June 8 (in Osaka) and June 9 (in Tokyo).
