? On November 14, 2016, Ambassador Tatiana IOSIPER, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to Japan, visited the University Senior High School and delivered a lecture in English to the high school students in one of the school visit programs organized by the Delegation of the European Union to Japan that aims to help the younger generation in Japan to deepen their knowledge of the EU and its member countries.
? After the high school students made a speech to welcome the Ambassador and introduce Ehime Prefecture and their own school in English, the Ambassador started her lecture by giving a brief introduction to Romania and the EU, and then explained simply and clearly the relationship between Romania and the EU, how the EU contributes to the world and so on.
? The Ambassador also made a courtesy call on the President of Ehime University, Yuichi Ohashi, who expressed his appreciation for her making this the first time for the Ambassador to leave Tokyo on official business after she assumed her duties in Japan. At the President’s dinner party with the Ambassador and her husband, distinguished guests from the government and industry in Ehime gathered and discussed an exchange between the Romanian traditional sport “Oina”, which is similar in many ways to baseball, and baseball, which Shiki Masaoka, born in Matsuyama, is said to have introduced to Matsuyama.
? Ehime University will continue to promote further educational and academic exchanges between Romania and Ehime.
